Available Dogs JAKE (16-007)
JAKE (16-007) is a 13 year old boy that weighs about 90 pounds. This handsome boy is smart, affectionate and a perfect gentlemen. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes, and he likes cats too; however he will sometimes try to chase the ones he doesn’t know. Jake is learning to like car rides, and he has great house manners and walks nicely on a leash. Jake is everything you could ask for in a companion and he is asking for a very special adopter. When Jake came into GRREAT in February, he was diagnosed with advanced arthritis of the spine. This condition has limited Jake‘s mobility somewhat, but it hasn’t stopped him from going on short daily walks and wanting to be wherever his people are. To make this possible, Jake wears a “Help Em Up Harness“ and, along with inexpensive daily medications, and monthly acupuncture and cold laser therapy, he is truly able to enjoy every day. Jake is able to go up and down 2-3 steps and will do best in a one level adult home, or one with older children, to avoid his accidentally getting bumped into. Jake may have “limitations” on what he’s able to do, but there is no limit to the joy that he will bring to your life! Just look at that happy face!
